Hi=2C I'm Jason Evangelho=2C Thunderbird's new Marketing Manager. Your don=
ations in 2021 made the creation of this role possible. So=2C please accep=
t my sincerest thanks. Today I want to show you what our income and spendi=
ng looked like in 2021 and how that affects our team=2C and the future of=
 the communication tool you love.

That's how much users like you donated to Thunderbird in 2021. This repres=
ents a 21% increase over donations in 2020=2C and it=E2=80=99s more than t=
wice the amount we received in 2018.

That's how much we spent in 2021=2C and 78.1% of spending was allocated to=
 Thunderbird personnel. These are the talented full-time employees and con=
tractors paid to work on Thunderbird. And with a significant year-over-yea=
r increase in donations=2C we=E2=80=99ve been able to expand our team!

And in about 2 weeks=2C we=E2=80=99ll be unveiling our plans to bring Thun=
derbird to Android=2C providing a much-needed open-source alternative for=
 that segment of our mobile users. (June is going to be awesome!)

And in 2023=2C you can look forward to a modernized Thunderbird experience=
 with a completely overhauled UX and UI.
